About this course
This course teaches educators how to use drama as a practical classroom tool to build student creativity, social skills and self-confidence. Participants learn the steps of the drama method — preparation, warm-up, playing, improvisation and evaluation — and practise techniques such as role-play, improvisation and re-enactment that they can bring directly into their own lessons.
Methodology
Practice a New Technique Each Day
Participants practise a different drama technique with the group every day, rather than only studying drama theory.
Learn the Full Drama Process
The course walks through the real steps of drama-based learning — preparation, warm-up, playing, improvisation and evaluation.
Body, Voice and Group Work Together
Improvisation exercises, music and rhythm work, and group practice build both individual expression and collaboration skills.
What you'll take home
Apply core drama techniques — improvisation, role-play, re-enactment — as classroom learning tools.
Design pedagogical activities that use drama to build student creativity and confidence.
Use body language and voice effectively to support classroom communication.
Choose the right drama technique for a given lesson or student group.
