About this course
You can already talk about everyday things in German. But a fast conversation, a discussion about school or a formal email is still hard. This week in Bremen is for teachers around B1 who want to take the next step — and use their German every day in the city, not only in class. Monday…
Methodology
Only German, every day
the week is taught in German; the trainer helps with simpler German, not with translation.
Class in the morning, Bremen in the afternoon
from Monday to Thursday, every afternoon has one task in the city that uses the morning's skill with real people and real texts.
Education topics
discussions, texts and talks are about school and teaching, so the vocabulary is the vocabulary you need.
The framework as a map
each day names the Council of Europe scales it works on; you read the B1 and B2 rows with the trainer to see where you stand.
What you'll take home
Follow a talk or guided walk in German, take useful notes, and check what you missed.
Take part in a discussion in German: give and defend your opinion, and ask when people speak too fast.
Describe your work and your school in German, clearly and in detail after preparing it, and answer questions.
Write professional emails and a short text about your work in German, in the right tone.
Summarise a discussion or something you found out, for people who were not there.
A self-assessment of your German in the Council of Europe's wording, and a three-month plan to keep improving.
