English Language Course for Teachers and Education Staff

Course Description

This “Intensive English Language Course for Teachers and Education Staff” is a language education program designed specifically for teachers and educational staff. The program aims to enhance participants’ grammar, vocabulary and writing skills, elevate their confidence in the language and improve their communication skills, particularly listening and speaking in their classrooms and on a daily basis through a combination of interactive lessons, hands-on activities, gamification, teamwork, role- play and discussions.
Moreover, the course aims to ensure participants how to access and utilize English learning and teaching resources and has been designed to teach how to learn effectively by introducing new strategies, and AI-based (artificial intelligence-based) programs and applications.
The course can be tailored according to the level and the needs of participants, including A1-A2 levels of English learners, new strategies for language teachers, and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning.
The course can be planned as a 5 or 7-day program according to the specific needs and requests of trainees.

Course Objectives:

The primary objectives of this course are as follows:

  1. To improve participants’ foundational English language knowledge.
  2. To strengthen teachers’ communication skills, both inside and outside the classroom.
  3. To facilitate easier access to English-language resources for educational professionals.
  4. To certify participants with improved English language skills at A1-A2 levels.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will strengthen their English language skills at levels A1-A2 and be able to apply these skills in their educational roles and personal development.

The content is tailor made according to the level and needs of participants and it has been particularly designed to guarantee extensive utility of the content through various methods and innovative strategies.
Various strategies and tools such as interactive lessons, hands-on activities, gamification, role-play, group work, project based learning and brainstorming will be applied to acquire the ultimate benefit throughout the course by the experienced trainers to establish cooperation and engagement between all partricipants accordinly.

Day 1: Basic English Knowledge and Introduction

  • Afternoon: Basic English at A1 Level
    • Fundamental grammar rules and examples
    • Basic expressions and sentence structures used in daily life

Day 2: Strengthening Communication Skills

  • Morning: In-Class Communication
    • Communication strategies among teachers
    • Effective communication skills with students
  • Afternoon: Out-of-Class Communication
    • Networking and communication skills among educational professionals
    • Public speaking practice

Day 3: Access to English Resources

  • Morning: Online and Offline Resources
    • Accessing educational resources online
    • Effective use of printed materials
  • Afternoon: Creating Teaching Materials
    • Finding and adapting relevant teaching materials
    • Sharing materials among participants

Day 4: In-Class Applications at A1-A2 Levels

  • Morning: Speaking and Listening Skills
    • Simple conversation practice and role-playing
    • Listening comprehension activities at A1-A2 levels
  • Afternoon: Writing Skills
    • Simple writing tasks and compositions
    • Practice in creating teaching materials for students

Day 5: Building Confidence and Closure

    • Emphasizing achievements throughout the course
  • Afternoon: Closure and Certificate Ceremony
    • Course evaluation and feedback collection
    • Presenting certificates to participants

This course plan focuses on strengthening foundational language skills while providing an interactive and participatory learning experience. Each day includes various activities and applications to ensure the practical application of the acquired knowledge.

To follow

Trainees will be given hard copies of all course materials that they can present to their colleagues in their organization to spark interest in the strategies learned during the training course.

In addition, a mailing list of participants will be created to exchange ideas/experiences.

Self-assessment materials will be provided.

At the end of the course, participants will fill out a questionnaire to get detailed feedback on the effectiveness of the training event.
