Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for Inclusive Schools
Course Description
This course aims to equip educators with Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies to create an inclusive learning environment. SEL helps students develop empathy, self-awareness, decision-making, and social skills. According to the 2020 UNESCO report, SEL not only enhances students’ emotional resilience but also increases student participation in inclusive education.
Aligned with the Erasmus+ Programme for 2021-2027, this course particularly addresses the Inclusion priority, aiming to reach disadvantaged students and promote the development of social and emotional skills in educational environments. Participants will learn methods to strengthen inclusive education by implementing SEL strategies. This course also focuses on the use of digital tools and inclusive education strategies.
Course Methodology
The course is based on an interactive, hands-on, and collaborative methodology. Participants will not only learn the theoretical aspects of SEL but also engage in practical activities and group work to apply these strategies in classroom settings. Educators will be supported with activities that can be easily transferred to their school environments.
Digital tools like Padlet and Google Classroom will be used to develop interactive teaching strategies that combine Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) with inclusive education methodologies. This will help teachers adapt to the process of digital transformation in education.
